What Is a Somatic Cannabis Retreat?
A Somatic Cannabis Retreat is a guided, intentional, and legally held retreat experience using medicinal cannabis to support deeper somatic awareness, emotional processing, and inner exploration.
Unlike recreational cannabis use, this work is held within a structured retreat container with preparation, facilitation, integration, group support, and clear safety agreements.
The retreat is designed to help participants slow down, reconnect with the body, access deeper layers of inner awareness, and explore what may be ready to be seen, felt, and integrated.
“The way Pete and his facilitators hold the space allowed me to feel safe, supported, and deeply connected to myself.” — Dale
Why Cannabis-Assisted Work?
When used intentionally and within the right container, cannabis can support a deeply somatic and introspective process. It may help participants stay connected to the body while exploring emotions, memories, patterns, sensations, and inner imagery.
For many people, cannabis-assisted work can feel more grounded and accessible than stronger psychedelic experiences, while still opening meaningful space for insight, release, and integration.
This retreat combines cannabis-assisted journeys with breathwork, somatic practices, music, sound, sharing circles, and integration support to create an intentional container for exploring what lies beneath the surface and bringing those insights back into everyday life.
Body-led inner exploration and a synthesis of somatic and visual senses
Highly active, visual experiences and a deep connection to intuition
Profound spiritual connection and a sense of sacredness, emotional release and nervous system support
Your Benefits
Lucid, present awareness with a heightened sense of agency

“This retreat took me deeper than any other. Working with cannabis in a safe container helped me access emotions and layers I’d never been able to reach through breathwork or somatic practices alone.”
— Lisa

What to Expect During the Retreat
The retreat is intentionally structured to help you feel prepared, supported, and held from the moment you arrive through to integration. While each retreat and group is different, the experience follows a clear journey designed to support both depth and safety.
Arrival & Orientation
Arrive, settle into the space, and connect with the facilitators and group. We begin by establishing intentions, agreements, and a supportive foundation.
Preparation
Through breathwork, meditation, somatic practices, education, and group sharing, you begin connecting with your body, clarifying your intention, and preparing for the deeper work.
Guided Cannabis Journeys
You are guided through intentional cannabis-assisted experiences supported by music, somatic awareness, and facilitation. There is space to turn inward, follow what arises, and explore your experience at your own pace.
Grounding & Integration
Following each journey, we slow things down. You have space to rest, ground, reflect, and share, allowing the experience to settle into the body.
Embodiment & Next Steps
The final stage is about making the experience meaningful beyond the retreat. We explore what surfaced, what you want to carry forward, and how your insights can be integrated into everyday life.
“The preparation helped me feel safe enough to go deep, and the integration afterwards gave me space to understand and embody what had come up.”
— Diana

Frequently Asked Questions
-
For Australian participants, this retreat works within a legal medicinal cannabis framework. Participants must hold a valid medicinal cannabis prescription issued by their treating medical practitioner and must bring their own prescribed cannabis.
From a scientific perspective, cannabis is classified as a hallucinogen, which places it within the broader psychedelic spectrum. However, the depth and nature of the experience are highly dose-dependent, person-dependent, and context-dependent. Intention, environment, nervous system safety, and skilled facilitation all play a significant role.
In this work, cannabis is approached not as a recreational substance, but as a conscious, somatic catalyst, used to deepen embodiment, emotional processing, and integration rather than to chase peak experiences.
-
No. Prior psychedelic experience is not required. Many participants are new to this kind of work. The application and preparation process helps determine whether the retreat is suitable for you.

At Psychegetics, sessions are carefully monitored and paced to prioritise safety, regulation, and consent. You are encouraged to communicate openly at any point if something feels overwhelming or uncomfortable, and support is always available.
Preparation, clear boundaries, skilled facilitation, and post-session integration all play an important role in reducing risk. This work is not about pushing limits or chasing intensity, but about listening to the body and working within your capacity.
-
Having experienced anxiety or discomfort with cannabis does not automatically mean this retreat is unsuitable for you. In this work, anxiety can be explored gently through somatic awareness, support, and pacing. Your previous experiences and concerns can be discussed during the application and screening process.
-
You are not expected to navigate the experience alone. Facilitators are present throughout the retreat to provide support, grounding, and guidance when needed.

-
You can still apply. The retreat may offer an opportunity to explore your existing relationship with cannabis from a different perspective, moving away from habitual or recreational use and towards greater intention, awareness, and curiosity.
